Style Snaps Vol. 2- Bringing Holiday Sparkle to Work

T'is that time of year again! The department stores are decked, we've had our first snowfall of the season, the heavy coats have been pulled out, and somehow there's glitter everywhere...and we are totally okay with that. So okay, in fact, that we've decided to dedicate the next couple Style Snaps entirely to integrating that holiday sparkle into your wardrobe. Leading the pack: Work Wear!

Work wear is a tricky little beast. You have to keep things appropriate for the office, and sometimes that can be intimidating. We are here to challenge that notion and help make dressing for work fun! After all, this is everyday we are talking about people!

For this look we let the coat shine. This coat is by 3.1 Philip Lim ($320, Size 2, 100% Wool) and is the perfect balance of functional and fun. Large silver buttons add that pop of holiday whimsy, while the neutral gray tone keeps it down to Earth and ready for the office.

We layered the coat over one of our favorite pieces, this gorgeous Jil Sander metallic sweater (Size 38, $145). It features subtle sparkle via metallic thread, and an adorable peter pan collar and will add smiles to even the gloomiest of days. We paired the look with a simple black T by Alexander Wang skirt (Size Medium, $49 )and opaque black tights for warmth.

To bring in some colour, we opted for a pair of faux-pony hair kitten heels by Sole Society (brand new, size 8, 35$). These shoes are perfect for the workplace with their classic silhouette and short heel, but the colour and the fabric make them fun and interesting. (Tip: For ultimate holiday dressing, match your feature colour with your nail colour.)

We topped the look off with this amazing Alexander Wang Devere bag ($350) that has me ready to splurge because of all of it's great features. A cross-body that is cool, functional and unique? (You had me at cross-body ;) )

And there you have it, the perfect way to incorporate some holiday magic into your work wardrobe. Keep it simple, keep it subtle, and remember to have fun!

Thanks for reading and make sure to stay tuned to the next edition of Style Snaps to learn even more ways to spread the holiday cheer with your wardrobe!
