Style Snaps Vol. 3: Partying with Sparkle

Last week we talked about bringing that holiday sparkle to work and how it's important to keep it subtle and classy. This week, we're bringing sparkle to our Holiday parties and it's an entirely different story.

Parties are the epitome of FUN, and so no matter the season, it's important to incorporate that spirit into your party ensembles. Whether it's an unexpected pop of colour, an overly flared skirt, extra high pumps, or studs allover, don't worry about taking it too seriously. If there was ever a time to take a risk in the wardrobe department, parties are it!

It's no secret that we are big fans of jumpsuits over here at Mine & Yours, so the choice was a natural one for us. This blingin' onesie is by Robert Rodriguez (Size 6, $75, Hornby location) and is just the right balance of bling, function and fit.

To ensure a comfortable night, it's important to find a good jacket or coat to pair with your main piece. Fur is a good choice, but can easily leave you overheated. Boleros are another popular choice, but they leave you pocketless. For this look we chose a simple oversize blazer (so in right now) by Wilfred (Size 6, 45$, Hornby Location). It's a versatile piece that can be worn again, and it's also comfortable with pocket space and full sleeves. We love how it also plays off of the menswear inspired feel of opting for pants rather than a dress.

The handbag we styled with the look is actually a vintage lucite piece from the 1950's ($99, Hornby Location). This definitely isn't your everyday type of bag, but we say, wembrace it! The holidays are the perfect excuse to pull out your special, unexpected pieces that make your look pop.

Party season causes many girls to pull out their highest heels, and although we are allll for that 6 inch boost, sometimes it isn't the most practical for a night full of dancing. We say, wear what's comfortable!! If 6" heels ain't yo' thang, wear flats or kitten heels like these classic Chanel beauties (size 9, $350)!

To finish off the look: House of Harlow's double sunburst pendant necklace ($99). House of Harlow 1960 is owned by Nicole Richie and offers eclectic pieces that are fun and affordable. We carry brand new pieces from their current collection, and are always surprised how well the pieces pair with everything.

And there you have it folks, holiday party sparkles! The takeaway from this is that you don't have to go for that cookie cutter party look every time. Feel free to mix and match super fun, special pieces with great classics that you have in your wardrobe and you'll  be the best dressed, guaranteed!

Bitty
