In 1947, Rose Repetto created her first pair of ballet shoes for her son Roland Petit, who was complaining that his shoes were uncomfortable. After that, she began designing and creating ballet shoes for others; she opened her first boutique in Paris in 1959, which was visited by the most elite ballerinas. To keep fresh and modern, Repetto launched numerous designer collaborations in the early 2000’s - Issey Miyake (2000), Comme de Garçons (2004), Karl Lagerfeld (2009), and others. Today, the brand has been launching ready-to-wear collections inspired by the grace and femininity of their loyal clientele, as well as keeping true to their traditional way of manufacturing their iconic ballerina-inspired shoes.
