Briony Douglas
Briony is a Toronto based Visual Artist, Photographer, Director and Illustrator. Her art shows have been seen across the country and internationally, as celebrity and art-world-insider favs. Today we ask her about her favourite designers, working with Oprah, and fashion as a creative.

You wear a lot of hats, from Visual Artist to Photographer and Illustrator. How has your career as a creative developed your personal style?
My personal style definitely pushes the boundaries more because I am a creative. I look at outfits and articles of clothing as pieces of art and an extension of my inner creativity. I love simply love colour and wearing things that maybe not everyone would be comfortable wearing.

What are your fashion tips as a visual artist?
Dress for yourself! Wear clothes that make you happy and allow you to be creative without thinking about outside opinions. Just like when you make art, do it because it makes you happy.

Who are your favourite designers and why?
Simon Porte Jacquemus and Alessandro Michele. Both creating absolutely iconic pieces of art and pushing the boundaries on and off the runway. Simon specifically paved a whole new road for Jacquemus as a fashion house with designs that had never been seen before, the original micro bag.
What professional accomplishment are you most proud of to date?
I genuinely cant narrow that down, I am so blessed to have so many incredible opportunities, last year photographing Oprah for TIFF, My independent art show or the 12 foot tall cowboy boots I built, they are all so awesome and I feel grateful to be able to do what I do.
"I have always had a love of fashion but it wasn’t until I really embraced being a full time artist 8 years ago that I really fell in love with all things Fashion. I began to view it
differently, the artistry that went into all the aspects of making clothes, bags and shoes fascinated me."
